Harbour Talk // May 2026
News Magazine of South Harbour Property Owners Association
The first item on every month’s agenda is an open for residents to address their questions, comments, and concerns with the Board. As always, residents are welcome and encouraged to attend the monthly board meetings. It is a great way to know what is going on in our neighborhood and attending may even lead you to run for a seat on the board at our next annual meeting. Our next board meeting is May 12th @ 7pm.
Make sure to follow our Facebook page to stay up to date on all social events! As always, if you have a social idea email them to social@southharbour.org
Annie Natalie, Social Director, social@southharbour.org
Resident Social Clubs may use the Clubhouse Monday through Thursday, once a month. If you are interested in starting a new South Harbour Club for residents, contact Ann, socials@southharbour.org, to get started.
Bingo Club
Join us when we meet May 6th from 1-3pm for Bingo at the Clubhouse.
We meet the first Wednesday of each month. Bring a prize < $5 (it can be anything). Come meet or reconnect with neighbors!
Contact Lori at lori.fowler@comcast.net for more information.
Euchre Club
Join us when we play euchre on May 11th at 6:30 at the Clubhouse.
We are a rotating group of residents that play once a month, at the clubhouse, on a Monday evening at 6:30pm. We have a pitch-in, BYOB, and moderate level play is needed. We play with progressive euchre, so it is a great way to get to know your neighbors. Contact Susie at szabel6@gmail.com for more information.
South Harbour Book Club
Join us when we meet on Thursday, May 21 at 7:30 at the Clubhouse.
Highlighting this meeting will be this year’s contemporary classic choice A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. This novel, hailed as “One of the greatest American novels” by The New Yorker, is a coming of age story about a young girl at the turn of the 20th century. I’m looking forward to the discussion.
We meet informally in the upper level of the Clubhouse on the 3rd Thursday of every other month. We choose our books in advance usually for the year and copies are available at our public library. We have a wonderful group and we hope you will join us! If you have any questions, please email Gail Nowicki at gailsn305@gmail.com
Spring Tips:
With Spring here, it is time to walk around your property and
Pick up tree limbs, branches and place out for city pick up. Call the Street Department for a Large Branch Pick Up.
Remove items stored around your house and mini -barn.
Prune tree and shrub growth semi-annually
Cut your grass weekly to keep it healthy and looking good. Don’t forget to edge along your sidewalk and driveway! Help keep our street drains unclogged by blowing your clippings from the street to the yard.
Control weeds such as dandelions so they do not spread to neighbors by treating with Weed & Feed, spraying, or utilizing lawn service. Sharing is not always caring!
We appreciate all property owners turning in their RFC requests.
If you are planning any work done to your property, a Request for Change (RFC) for change is required before beginning construction. The DCC committee works hard to process your RFC forms promptly. Completing the RFC form fully helps speed up the process. An RFC form is easy to complete and submit online.
To submit a form go the the SHPOA website southharbour.org and sign in (if you haven’t registered for the website, it is an easy process and it gives you access to the full website, not just the public face).
Under Website click on Developmental Control Committee (top left-side of page), there you will find a link to the online improvement submission form.
While you are on the DCC page, you will also find a link to SHPOA complete DCC guidelines.
-Jerry Schweir, Development Control, development@southharbour.org
Once again, from late Spring to Fall, we will be highlighting a Property of the Month. Award winners will receive a temporary award sign in their yard and bragging rights for the month!
The South Harbour property selected in May will appear here in Harbour Talk.
If you have a street light issue, let Duke Energy know by submitting an online request for repair. Street Light Repair Request
Traffic Study
Due to concerns about speeding that were raised during the SHPOA annual meeting, the Noblesville Police Department conducted an incognito traffic study. I wanted to share the results with you. The study took place near the Buttonwood and Tamarack area.
Please note that this study did not record license plates or any identifying information, and no tickets were issued.
When the study was conducted:
• March 6, 2026 at 11:01 AM through March 12, 2026 at 1:25 PM
• Total duration: just over 6 days
What was measured:
Traffic volume (number of vehicles) and vehicle speeds throughout the day, including both weekdays and the weekend.
Key findings:
• A total of 6,552 vehicles were recorded during the study period
• The average speed was approximately 24 mph
Traffic patterns:
• Traffic was tracked continuously, showing how volume changes by time of day
• The majority of vehicles traveled within typical speed ranges, with a smaller percentage exceeding those speeds
What this means:
This study provides a clearer picture of how many vehicles are using the road and how fast they are traveling at different times. The information will help guide future discussions around traffic safety, speed awareness, and any potential improvements within the neighborhood.
Please continue to obey the speed limit of 25 mph throughout the neighborhood and pay attention for pedestrians and bicyclists. Lastly, a special thanks to the Noblesville Police Department for listening to resident concerns and completing this study.

It’s Almost Pool Time
The first day of our 2026 pool season is May 23rd. It is time for you to locate your key fob for entrance to the pool. Your key fob is how we recognize you as a South Harbour resident for pool privileges. If you have lost your existing fob or are new to the neighborhood, come to the clubhouse (during clubhouse operating hours) to obtain your new/replacement fob. Replacement fob’s are issued with a replacement charge of $50.
Pool Hours During the Summer:
10am-8pm daily
Pool Hours when Noblesville Schools are open:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 10am-8pm
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:15-8pm
We have two categories of individuals to use the pool who do not live in the neighborhood: In-home caregivers (like a grandparent who sits with the kids, or an all-day nanny), and minor children who are related to and spend their days with the resident (like a niece who stays with her aunt - who is a resident - during the day). Grandchildren living with (even temporarily) grandparents do not pay a guest fee. Grandchildren just visiting for the day or weekend are considered guests. Any other person is considered a guest. Guests may only use the amenities when the resident of whom they are a guest is present, and the resident is responsible for the guest’s actions and behavior. The charge for guests is $3.00 per person per day.
-Susie Zabel, Pool Director, pool@southharbour.org
Did you know South Harbour residents can rent the pool for a private party? The pool can be rented (based on lifeguard availability) from 8pm-10pm on days the pool is open. Rentals must be made a minimum of two weeks in advance. The cost is $125 for the pool plus $80 cash to be paid to the lifeguards, plus a $200 refundable damage deposit. For more information contact the pool director at pool@southharbour.org or the office manager at officemgr@southharbour.org
Don’t forget to get your reservations in ahead of time. The clubhouse is booking very quickly! We are taking reservations up to a year in advance (see contact info below).
